Effective, continuous germ protection
Germ Pro Guard goes on any surface and dries very quickly. Once dry, the covalent bond between it and the surface upon which it is applied, including hands, makes it permanent. It will not leach or evaporate and is food safe (NSF 51). It's toxicity rating is just under Vitamin C (on an LD50 scale).
How does Surface Shield work?
Surface Shield permanently bonds to all surfaces, making a nano-molecular lattice work of pins that pierces a pathogen (this process is called lysis) when the microbes come into contact. Similar to popping a balloon with a pin, the nano-spikes do not deteriorate during this process, and this is why it can keep working up to 30 days on surfaces.
Does Surface Shield, or Hand Shield, cause superbugs?
No, superbugs such as MRSA are caused by germs developing a resistance to traditional products that kill using poison or dehydration (alcohol). Shield products are non-toxic (similar toxicity to Vitamin C) and kill mechanically using physics, so there is no possibility of bacteria building an immunity.
Is Surface Shield anti-viral AND anti-bacterial?
Yes, and more! Surface Shield (and Hand Shield) have demonstrated antimicrobial protection against bacteria (e.g. MRSA, salmonella, VRE, E. coli, listeria, etc.), against viruses (e.g. influenza, swine flu, norovirus, herpes simplex 1), against fungi and against mold. Lysis, the piercing of the cell wall of the pathogen, is the process used to kill the germs, so anything susceptible to lysis would be neutralized.
Does Hand Shield really last 24 hours?
The only reason Hand Shield quits working is because of natural exfoliation. The silane base of Hand Shield actually moisturizes skin, making hands feel smooth. Because of frequent use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, we find people over apply our Hand Shield, which does not harm anything.
Can Surface Shield or Hand Shield get into my food, water or intestinal system?
Short answer: No. There is no possible way for these nanoparticles to get into food, water or an intestinal system as particles. Shield has a toxicity level similar to Vitamin C. Our Shield products are NSF 51 approved.
Long answer: the molecule we apply cannot exist outside the water environment it is in. When applying and while drying the water environment is removed, and these nanometer-sized molecules react with each other and the surface they are on to form extremely large, chemically linked films on surfaces.
No single molecules remain after application and drying. Even a single molecule will react with and bond to the surface. The molecules cannot be isolated and captured, so there is no way this material, once applied, can possibly be isolated, enter the food chain or the atmosphere, as particles.
Our molecules react immediately with the surface and each other to form an insoluble film on the surface that is chemically different than the material originally applied just seconds before. It will no dissolve, flake off or leach. This new film interacts on the nano-scale with bacteria, viruses (nano-sized) and fungi where it lyses (pierces) their cell walls causing cellular inactivation and death of the pathogen.
The nano particles we use are, for these reasons, stable and cannot be isolated and cannot exist outside their water environment. Both products have been approved Australian TGA and New Zealand Food Safety Authority Approvals.

Does application of Surface Shield take a long time? What preparations are needed before the Germ Pro USA professional arrives to treat my facility?
Application typically takes less than an hour per 5,000 square feet. Our trained professionals have the equipment to make application very quick to minimize inconvenience. Simply clean as you normally would, then we will come in to treat your property. We will take before and after measurements of pathogen levels, with the most intriguing results presenting themselves BEFORE your second treatment after 90 days—prepare to be amazed!
In between visits, high-traffic door handles and counters can be quickly wiped down with a spray bottle and a microfiber cloth. Commercial/high-traffic clients should schedule for monthly treatment. Residential/low-traffic clients can extend treatment frequency as far out as every three months.

Will my employees notice the Shield products after application?
No, Surface Shield (and Hand Shield) is odorless and colorless and will not stain fabrics or run on surfaces. It becomes a permanently-bonded Shield, and the Hand Shield will actually leave hands feeling soft and smooth due to the Silane base of the anti-pathogen. Traditional hand sanitizers leave skin dry and chaffed due to their high alcohol content, whereas Hand Shield will actually make your hands feel better than ever. Shield is permeable to gasses and allows hands to breathe normally, and in testing no reactions have been noted on any skin type.
Can we be present during the treatment process?
We ask that rooms being treated are vacated prior to treatment. We can treat your facility during a lunch break, and Shield only needs a few minutes to dry completely and reach maximum effectiveness. The only preparation needed is to make sure surfaces to be treated are free of papers that may otherwise block the product. Plants can stay in place, though organic gardeners will want to remove their plants or cover them as the Shield is an anti-microbial and could harm the beneficial bacteria in your soil.
Residential customers often spend an hour on the patio while their property is treated or go out to eat or pick up groceries. We do ask for pets to be out of the home while we treat the property. If it is simply too hot to have the pet out of the home, please have the pet in a crate for the safety of our application professionals.

Are Germ Pro USA products harmful to the environment?
Our products are not harmful to the environment. The products do not leech, and they won’t get into the waterways. In fact, these products have been used to treat water and drain systems.
30 days destroying germs
Germ Pro Guard destroys MRSA, Staph, VRE, salmonella, E. coli, listeria, norovirus, H1N1 (swine flu), influenza, herpes simplex 1, fungi, Stachybotrys (black mold), etc. Independent tests from around the globe show it is effective against any pathogen subject to lysis (think of a pin popping a balloon). Germ Pro Guard is a lattice of molecular pins that attract and pierce pathogens, as seen on the left as though through an electron microscope. |
